My general impression of the twenty minutes of Resident Evil I could be bothered to watch:
Red Queen: Hello and welcome to the Hive. Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the decontamination. Umbrella Corporation: we do what we must, because we can.
Strangely those twenty minutes have managed to hugely reinforce my need to buy not only Portal but also Silent Hill 2. ZOMBIES ARE BORING, NEEDS MOAR PYRAMID HEAD.
It was nice to hear all that Marilyn Manson score that I'd forgotten about, though. Oh, Marilyn Manson. Somehow you still manage to be awesome.

Evidently James Marsters is playing Piccolo in the horrible travesty of everything that is the upcoming Dragonball live-action film.
This makes me want to either a) bleach my brain out just to stop knowing it or b) go see it.
I also drew a charcoal sketch of something in art class today that actually looked halfway decent, but this doesn't seem quite so important anymore next to the discovery that they've also got Chow Yun-Fat playing Master Roshi. MY CHILDHOOD, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO IT.

I saw Beowulf a few nights ago and basically my impression of it is "AHAHAHAHAHA JOHN MALKOVITCH".
I find it weird that I saw at least two trailers for this (I think) and never realized it was CGI until my sister told me on the way to the theater, because holy lord uhh, it was really bad in places. The entire first scene was like a video game and Angelina Jolie seemed to get more and more plastic as the thing went on, to the point where in that last shot she kind of looked like they took her straight out of Tomb Raider.
But I guess I'm just spoiled or something, it was probably fantastic for, you know, A MOVIE DONE ENTIRELY WITH MOTION CAPTURE. There was a dragon, that was pretty cool. And an astonishing amount of eye-stabbing for a supposedly 14-A movie.
We're doing scripts now in Writer's Craft but for some godforsaken reason the teacher wants us to work in pairs. I don't know how this is really going to work seeing as a) no power on earth can stop me from writing a Riddler-Scarecrow teamup episode of awesome for The Batman, and b) no one in my class would really care about a Riddler-Scarecrow teamup episode for The Batman because they're not morons like me. She also wants us to do an episode for an existing show, rather than making one up, which is fine with me but in general seems to be a pretty stupid move. I'm really beginning to doubt the amount of common sense this lady is bringing to her job, but right now, whatever. Batman fanfic for credit. I really couldn't be happier.

I just watched Fight Club all the way through for the first time. Yes, I am in fact a complete dearth of popular culture. I try.
I think I should explain this, because I'm not sure I ever have, or if I did it's been a while: I absorb things. Sometimes it manifests as empathy, sometimes it manifests as matching my pace to whatever song I'm currently listening to, and a lot of the time it manifests as taking on aspects of a character in a movie I've just watched or a book I've just read. It's like shallow, unintentional soul-bonding - it's still me, it's not any kind of identity weirdness, I just feel like the person for a little while until the movie residue wears off.
At the moment I am flipping randomly between Tyler Durden and the Narrator, which is really a very interesting experience. Actually, I started out as Tyler and then I switched to the Narrator, and now I'm just feeling generally surreal, but that might just be because I'm focusing on words right now and that throws it off.
( So, about Fight Club in general? )
I keep INTENDING to make icons and I keep NOT. I even have a reasonably decent Shut Me Up icon with that one guy who can't possibly be Jimmy Urine, but of course I haven't uploaded it yet because I'm lasy. Also I have Studio homework to be doing about why we're not supposed to be wearing socks with sandals. It's philosophical.
Also I don't think anybody actually knows why you're not supposed to wear white pants after Labor Day. I'd assume it was because you'd blend into the snow, but then why isn't there a rule against white shirts or coats? Very odd. And I'm actually going to bed now, so bye.
